Introduction to CBD Isolate
CBD isolate, cannabidiol, in powder form is available from Mesa Lavender Farms®. It is used to create several different products to include salves, lotions, and oils. Cannabidiol is one of the many cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. CBD isolate does not contain any THC – the psychoactive component of cannabis. CBD Isolate is extracted from Industrial Hemp, a cannabis which by Colorado and Federal law must contain no more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) on a dry weight basis.
The CBD isolate extracted from industrial hemp is typically more than 99% CBD. The isolate Mesa Lavender Farms® has available contains 99.58% CBD with an additional 0.37% CBDV giving a total percentage of CBD of 99.95%. The Certificate of Analysis for our CBD Isolate is available.
BDV, cannabidivarin, is similar in structure to cannabidiol (CBD). Like CBD, cannabidivarin does not affect thinking. Cannabidivarin is approved for use as a medicine in Europe for treating two rare conditions. It is not approved for use as a medicine in the U.S. or Canada.
CBD has been reported to influence several bodily functions, including appetite, memory, mood, pain perception, and inflammation. CBD and CBDV tend to make certain nerve cells involved in swelling (inflammation), seizures, pain, and other conditions less active. By making these cells less active, CBD and CBDV are said to improve these conditions. You can learn more about CBDV at webmed.com.
How Pure CBD isolate is processed
Once the raw oil is extracted from the plant tissue, it is frozen to remove undesirable elements that were extracted from the plant, such as fats, chlorophyll molecules, bacteria, and waxes. To further refine and isolate the various cannabinoids, the oil goes through Short Path Distillation. The extract is heated, and each compound separated at a different boiling point. In this way, the CBD is isolated into a nearly pure form. This process creates the Pure CBD Isolate Mesa Lavender Farms has available.
How to use CBD Isolate
Mesa Lavender Farms CBD isolate is sold in a powdered form typically by the gram. Larger quantities are available by containing firstname.lastname@example.org. We use this CBD isolate powder to create lotions, tinctures, salves, body products, and other THC-free CBD items. CBD isolate can be added to practically anything you eat or drink. Brownies, cakes, pies, salads. Add it to your tea or coffee. Make your own tinctures by adding CBD isolate powder to an oil such as coconut oil and put it under your tongue to be absorbed directly into your bloodstream. You can use it to make a salve or rub it directly into your skin.
Keep in mind the bioavailability (i.e. effectiveness) of oral CBD in humans is around 6% , and when taking CBD under the tongue the bioavailability is much greater. Sublingual (under the tongue) delivery produces superior bioavailability compared to oral dosage forms of CBD. Higher oral doses are required to produce the same results when doses are taken under the tongue.
Some consumers smoke or dab the CBD. While this is a highly effective way to get it into your system the quickest; Mesa Lavender Farms does NOT recommend these methods due to potential damage to your lungs.
